TITLE: The roof of Casa Mila (La Pedrera)
It is full of Gaudi sculptures, with great artistic strength.
These are stairwells, ventilation towers and chimneys, which stand as guardian warriors of La Pedrera.
To soften the volumes of the stairwells, Gaudí uses curved shapes.
The stairwells, some covered with trencadís stone, marble or ceramic, recycled and monochrome, the others are plastered with lime and plaster mortar. Ventilation towers help renew the air in the attic. Chimneys (smoke vents). There is a group of fireplaces covered with pieces of cava bottles.
AUTHOR: Maria Teresa Closas Xifré (Spain)
I live in Igualada, (Barcelona).
I do my work as an amateur artist so that these photos do not leave you indifferent. Always trying to convey a composition with lines, symmetries, geometries, lights and shadows, shapes and textures, etc.
Black and white nature is born in the mind, and it is up to you how you see and work only on lights or contrasts, shapes and lines and see a different world from the real objective world. Depending on the inspiration of the moment, you exaggerate the differences in light or contrast.
