TITLE: Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Seoul, South Korea
I spontaneously decided to visit the Dongdaemun Design Plaza after a day walking along the Seoul City Wall Trail. I spent a week in South Korea during the month of April in 2024, and enjoyed the architecture mix in this vibrant city.
The Dongdaemun Design Plaza is a cultural hub featuring exhibition spaces, retail outlets and a park on the roof, offering some welcome calm and greenery. It was designed by the late Zaha Hadid and has now become an important landmark in Seoul.
What attracted me to the building were the elegant curves, the simplicity and the spaciousness of the structure. The design simply flows, and is inspiring and soothing at the same time.
