TITLE: TRACES

The series Traces is part of an articulated research work on ice shapes, their genesis and physical nature. Traces focuses on visualising the different physical phenomena and forces at work in 'drawing ice'. They are ephemeral signs, geometries that form on the surface of the ice and disappear after a few hours or even minutes.

I was born in Tarvisio, a small town on the Italian side of the Alps, on the border with Austria and Slovenia. I graduated in architecture in Venice and, during my studies, I attended the photography course of Italo Zannier, one of the best-known Italian photographers and historians of photography, and that is when I developed my interest in photography.

For many years I have explored the natural environment of the area where I live in search of the beauty of natural forms, their aesthetic and artistic qualities. This persistent work on the shapes of natural elements in recent years has resulted in a series of abstract naturalistic photographs, which I only recently decided to exhibit.
