TITLE: Lifelines
Lifelines
Over the decades of a tree's life, the good and bad times are reflected in the lifelines in the bark - just like the wrinkles in the faces of old people.
AUTHOR: Joachim Kakau (Germany)
I've been taking analog photos since I was 16 - mostly black and white and with my own lab right from the start.
The focus of my work is the representation of the abstract - often from nature - the focus on forms and structures that the eye and thoughts can glide along.
It's often the small details that have a big impact.
In addition, there are aesthetically attractive landscapes and cityscapes.
The entire process of image creation of the submitted photos runs analogously. Photographs are taken on black and white negative film in 35 mm and medium format (6x7). The photos presented here are hand prints on silver-gelatine baryt paper.
