TITLE: Fading of a fish
'Fading of a fish' depicts a seven days old zebrafish.
The six-millimiters-long animal was genetically modified to express fluorescent lymphatic and blood vessels.
The image was taken using a super resolution microscope, and it shows the functional 'plumbing' system of a fish.
Zebrafish grow up to two centimetres in length and are wildly use in scientific research for their optical transparency and relatively easy genetic manipulation during their development.

Andrea is a biomedical PhD student with the passion of microscopy art.
His work revolves around neuroscience and brain development, with a particular interest in the zebrafish model.
Since his first steps into science, imaging has always played a mayor role in his scientific research. Super resolution and confocal microscopes allow him to express his vision by capturing images of microscopic animals and make them the centrepieces of art compositions.
