TITLE: Queen of the River
Deep in the rainforest found on one of Alaska's coastal peninsulas a mother brown bear stands guard over her triplets in a swift moving river filled with much larger boars. What she lacks in size she makes up for in spirit and this first time mother is one of the fiercest in the area. She teaches her cubs well and bravely charges any bear large or small who comes near, securing their share of salmon who make the journey upriver to spawn.
AUTHOR: Jennifer Rogers (United States)
Jennifer Rogers is a professional photographer and photo tour guide in Western Utah and loves nothing more than being able to spend time in the peaceful solitude of the desert with the Onaqui wild horses. Whether it be creating special memories for tour guests or creating new fine art pieces, time spent in this special place with these beautiful soulful creatures is never less than completely rewarding.
Conservation efforts, including wildlife education and protection, have always been at the forefront of her mind even as a little girl growing up in a very rural country setting. She spent unfathomable hours in the woods learning to identify tracks and understand behavior which has carried with her through the years as she traveled across several countries to volunteer time and photography skills to animal sanctuaries and/or private reserves.
Jennifer is thrilled that all of her travels and life experiences paved the way for her to relocate from the Hawaiian Islands to reside full-time in Utah and pour her heart into creating a safe, eco-friendly and informative photo safari where she can guide guests through a beautiful landscape containing the captivating Onaqui Wild horses.
Her love for the wild horses became so strong that she founded a 501(c)(3) called Red Birds Trust which aims to preserve & protect the lives of the Onaqui Wild Horse both on the range and after adoption. In addition to educational time spent on the range with clients, being able to give back is always at the forefront of her mind.
