TITLE: Bodies
I noticed a tall butte miles away in the distance, and then our moon rising nearby. I set out to try and find the butte and hope that the moon would be in a position where I could place it in the composition. Captured in the near infrared at 830nm, handheld in a rush of excitement, this image exists only because of curiosity.
While capturing the butte, I noticed some clouds start to form behind me in an otherwise cloudless sky. For a few brief moments the butte and the hills below it moved in and out of shadow, made more dramatic by the infrared wavelength used to capture the scene. Finally the moment came when the entire scene was enveloped in deep shadow, save for the very top of the butte and our nearest cosmic neighbor.
