TITLE: People of Dagbamete

This collection provides candid moments of the people who live in Dagbamete, a rural village in the Volta Region of Ghana. Born in Thessaloniki, Greece, in 1958, I moved to Canada in 1983, establishing my home in Toronto. Initially embarking on a successful career as an engineer, earned my M.A.Sc. degree from the University of Toronto and worked as a Management Consultant, implementing over 30 SAP projects across North America and Europe. However, it was my discovery of photography in 2003 that truly ignited my passion and reshaped my objectives.

My journey into photography began as a part-time pursuit, but my dedication to the craft soon led me to enroll in several courses at George Brown College,focusing on Fashion Photography. This formal education provided me with a strong foundation, allowing me to explore and refine my artistic vision. Over the years, my interest evolved into a profound commitment, culminating in my transition to full-time freelance photography in 2020.

Specializing in black and white photography, I have a unique desire for capturing the essence of every day life. My work gets deep into the raw and unfiltered moments of urban environments, utilizing high-contrast, high-ISO images that emphasize the interplay of light and shadow. This approach not only highlights the dynamic nature of the environment but also brings out the often-overlooked beauty in everyday scenes around us.

In addition to street photography, I occasionally venture into portrait and architectural photography. My black and white portraits are known for their ability to reveal the state of emotions and character of my subjects. My architectural photography captures the structural elegance and intricate details of buildings, from modern marvels to historic landmarks,always with a focus on dramatic lighting and composition.

As an artist, I am deeply involved in every aspect of the photographic process. I meticulously compose each shot, ensuring that every element within the frame contributes to the overall story. Post-processing is where my technical skills and artistic vision converge, as I enhance each image to its fullest potential,creating visually compelling and emotionally resonant works.

My dedication to my art is evident in my continuous pursuit of excellence and my commitment to capturing the world through my lens.
