TITLE: In the alleyways of Singapore’s China Town
In preparation for a solo exhibition which will take place later this year, and also in preparation for a book publication about the ethnic areas of Singapore, I started to explore China Town.
Beyond the traditional (tourist) sights of temples and streets lined with food stalls (always a temptation and distraction, in my opinion ….) I discovered a lot of otherwise overlooked features in the (back) alleyways not frequented by the usual sightseer. This plays nicely into my photographic goal to look beyond the normal, to find beauty in the small detail, abstract and unusual.
The pictures featured here are part of the series “In the alleyways of Singapore’s China Town”.
All the pictures are taken this year, in February and March during several exploration tours in Singapore’s China Town.
