TITLE: Elk Garden
I was hiking on one of my favorite sections of the Appalachian Trail in southeast Virginia after a snow storm coated the trees and ground in ice and snow. I was the first person on the trail and the temperature was 24 degrees Fahrenheit as the sun began to rise. I have never experienced anything so beautiful as the ice seemed to personify the distant mountain into a woman wrapped in a blanket of snow and the shape of the trees turning them into dancers. This series of pictures was taken on that magical morning where it was just me surrounded by beauty and silence.
AUTHOR: JANINA PELTIER (United States)
I am a hobby photographer with big dreams. I take photos whenever I can of whatever is available. I work as a software analyst and live in east Tennessee with my husband, step-children, and our dogs. I have won a few local photography awards so my husband calls me an award-winning photographer. While this is technically true, I know it is stretching the truth. I shoot with a Nikon D850 and hope to one day win a bigger competition.
