TITLE: Vlodrop-Station
Vlodrop-Station is a border town on the Dutch-German border in the Dutch province of Limburg. Nearby is a former border railway yard with the track of the 'Iron Rhine', a railway line that used to connect Belgium with the Ruhr area in Germany. In the forested 'National Park De Meinweg' runs the ‘Roode Beek’ brook and stood a Franciscan College St. Ludwig. I wandered for two days through this area with my father's birthplace and a fine holiday spot in my childhood. A sentimental journey with analogue photographic equipment and black and white films. The result I consider a tribute to my father Jan Th. Kamphuis, a photographer with passion.
AUTHOR: Theo A. Kamphuis (Netherlands)
Photography is what I love, past, present and future in one medium! Through photographs I reflect on the past, photographing I like to do myself, now and for later.
Photography has long been a mania for me, as a photographer I am self-taught. Professionally, I worked for a long time in a company history archive as a photo conservator: preserving, managing and using audiovisual material in historical collections. Fits well with personal interest in photography, as a medium and historical artefact. Working graphically with visual material, preferably photography, is something I enjoy doing.
