TITLE: The Black Place
The southern Highlands of Iceland are a magical and otherworldly place. So much so that on occasions one can imagine that the view is actually from one of the moons of Jupiter rather than an island in the North Atlantic. It is a land of barely any vegetation and dark, almost black, rocks and sand. The land is made of stark shapes and meandering rivers; therefore Black & White photography is the perfect medium to capture and make sense of it all. These photographs were all taken in September 2022, my second visit to this extraordinary place. I shall go again!
AUTHOR: Robert Bolton (United Kingdom)
My name is Robert Bolton and I strive to be a fine art Photographer in my spare time, at least that is my mission! I am based in the UK but prior to the pandemic I travelled a lot with my day job and this allowed me to indulge my photography. I love seascapes, minimalism and the 'otherworldly'. We create our reality and I like mine tranquil, reflective and as simple as possible.
