TITLE: Strength and Grace
This series was taken with the mind to show the grace, athleticism and strength of a ballerina.
I chose to shoot the dancer just in leotards and pointe shoes so her lines would be defined aswell as her muscle tone. Her sleek lines molding into curvasious positions with a poise and serenity that only professional ballerina's are capable of truely makes photographing dancers a joy. each position offers a multitude of visual aspects in regards of the negative spaces, lines and shadowing, there is always a new detail to find. The ease in which she hits the position without showing the effort that it takes is what evelates ballet from a physical sport into art.
