TITLE: A Study of Fragility

A Study of Fragility is a project I worked on during the year 2021.
In this purely autobiographical project I dialogue with the theme of fragility, a feeling that has accompanied me in all moments of my life.
It is a subtle and tender message of our human condition, an embrace of poetic contemplation on the nature of suffering.

AUTHOR: Camilla Gorini (Italy)

Camilla Gorini is an Italian photographer born in Switzerland in 1995 and resident in Milan for many years.
After studying photography at the Italian Institute of Photography in Milan, she began a personal path of photographic research in which she developed her own style and approached medium and large format analog photography, learning the classic darkroom printing techniques.
During these years of research on the history of photography, she approaches and lets herself be inspired by photographers such as Francesca Woodman, Man Ray, Imogen Cunningham, Florence Henri, passing through painting with points of reference such as Kazimir Maleviç, Agnes Martin and Mark Rothko.
In 2021 she was selected to participate in the London Art Biennale international fair, winning the prize for photography.
Subsequently, she participates in other group exhibitions in Rome and Paris.
Particularly sensitive to art as an expression of intensity from which emotion arises, she dedicates herself more and more to photography by creating autobiographical conceptual research works, concentrating her work on the theme of fragility.
The choice of black and white accompanies this path by shortening the distances between the viewer and the image; black and white is a color purified from the real dimension, it eliminates the superfluous, letting the essentials of photography flow and making the portrayed subjects float in a timeless space.
