TITLE: Freesource
Freesource (free, source and resource) is a project by photographer Eva Berten that was brought to life to show the dialogue between humans and nature. With fashion that was upcycled from old clothes that people threw away and a harmonic way of placing the dancers in the nature, the group wanted to show symbiosis and harmony, instead of disturbance and exploration. The team was built out of six dancers, the photographer Eva Berten, filmmaker Kang Chen (a shortfilm was created as well) and fashion designer Julia Scheele. They flew out to Iceland to shoot 10 days in the scenic landscapes. Iceland, the country of ice and fire, symbolizes the earths source and origin. In an exhibition with the full project the collective wanted the viewers to start a discourse. Is it possible to live in accordance with nature? Is there a way of being close to nature, without destroying it? Can we find new strength in nature, without mining out its resources completely?
