TITLE: The bandwagon effect
The bandwagon effect is the consideration that people often do certain acts or believe certain things just because the majority of people believe or do the same things. This effect is often referred to in a derogatory sense as 'herd instinct'. In the series I have included absurd or even masochistic acts. All of the images are surreal, of course, but they have in common a sense of the human tendency to conform to the actions of the 'herd', even if they appear ridiculous and devoid of apparent meaning.
