TITLE: Microcrystals - a crossover between art and science, a melting of urea and paracetamol in polarized light.
We encounter ascorbic acid, paracetamol, urea and menthol as everyday companions in medicines, makeup and food. These substances hardly seem mysterious, but by forming microcrystals they create a world of wonder. Photographed through a microscope, they become visible, allowing us to glimpse a journey through landscapes and fantastic forms. These images, not unlike modern abstract artworks, invite us to make our own associations, as varied as the random shapes the crystals form. The photographer can never be sure whether the session will be crowned with success, whether the crystals will reveal a universe of shapes and colors. To the extent that the photographer succeeds in revealing the obscure, nature reveals itself in art and the glimpse into the invisible becomes an adventure, the everyday becomes magical.
