TITLE: Emma
The person I have seen and experienced more in my life is grandma Emma.
She spends most of her time at the window, watching the world goes on like a spectator at the cinema, while she is at home.
Being old is difficult, "old age is bad" she often tells me, I tell her that if she was not old it means that she died young, so she should be happy to have lived so many years, but I know that these words are not too comforting.
The elderly are not stupid, they are not people to be put in a corner because they are no longer "useful" to society, but they are a treasure chest full of wealth, experience, emotions.
The problem of loneliness of the elderly is a current and urgent issue, which often has dramatic outcomes on their health. We are alive until we are dead, not until old age.
This picture is about old age and loneliness, but also a push to be close to our elders.
