TITLE: BLM Protest Lincoln
Taken on a role of Ilford-HP5, 35mm, 2020. An emotional moment I captured during a Black Lives Matter protest where a young girl spoke freely and passionately to the crowd about her experiences of racial discrimination following the death of George Floyd. It was a strange time for everyone, as not only were we in the middle of a national lockdown, but the topic of racism and hatespeech had been more prevalent than ever.

I'm in my final year of studying BA Photography under the University of Lincoln and currently I am trying to build my own brand as an analog photographer. Although I don't have much professional experience, and I am still experimenting with other mediums and techniques through my studies, I find that one needs a certain eye for detail when shooting on film and I like to believe that I have it. With analog photography, it is often the case of capturing the moment with no second chance - you do not get to edit it, you do not get to check it and delete it if it was wrong; you are only left with what you have taken in its rawest, purest form and that is what I love about it.
