TITLE: Daring
This photograph of the beautiful Liza reminds us to be bold and assertive. The artistic nude allows us to destroy the code of clothing that locks us in boxes and in different social classes. A naked body, covered in glitter with a powerful gaze shows us that even in the simplest of devices we can assert our power. Clothes don't define us as a person.
AUTHOR: Noémie Beslay (France)
I draw my inspiration from the surrealist movement by taking photographs that transform reality in order to reveal the fantastic and poetic aspect hidden behind simple appearances. I like to play with reflections, shadows, and I like to compose them with different contrasts especially when I work in black and white. In portrait, I know how to bring out the softness and poetry of the models with great authenticity. In reportage and street photography, I can sneak in while remaining discreet, which allows me to capture images in the right place and at the right time with great sincerity.
n my practice of photography, I do a lot of committed reports and documentaries where I like to tackle themes related to human rights, for example, my collaboration with the association "Dare Feminism 31" for which I made a report during the international day of women's rights and exhibition at the university library of the Faculty of Law of Toulouse. Even when I create series like in an editorial portrait, I am interested in messages carrying values or humanist messages. In this context, I designed a series which concerns the rights of women in France on display for one year at the Clément de Pémille vocational high school in Graulhet, in the Tarn. Still in the area of human rights, I collaborated with the Amnesty International association by carrying out a series of portraits with placards which advocated equal rights for citizens. Ethical photographer with strong values, I am versatile in terms of promoting a positive message, such as my productions of societal advertising on sexual diversity, but also on zero waste.
Graduated with an aesthetic baccalaureate and passionate about photography, I practiced makeup and continued my training in photography through private and online courses. In order to live from my passion, in 2015, I decided to resume my studies to obtain a Baccalaureate in photography in 2017 by working alternately in a photo laboratory. I then continued with higher studies in Quebec at Cégep de Matane for a DEC photography, in 2020.
