TITLE: Dis-Connection
During the last two years of the pandemic, many of us have experienced more closely the loneliness and forced separation from our loved ones and friends. Constrained by events, many have rediscovered solitary places, establishing a new bond with nature which, in the frenzy of an over-connected world, had slowly dissolved. Ever since I was a child, the woods have always been like a church to me, where we have to talk in whispers not to disturb the slow flow of time. This photograph represents for me the intimacy of that forest, which in the darkness of the night receives us in its embrace and regenerates our spirit.
AUTHOR: Alois Maurizi (Italy)
I am a terrestrial and underwater photographer. I am drawn to solitary places where I seek a fusion with the nature around me. Although my photographic subjects are often the natural elements and animals, the power of nature over the human mind has long intrigued me. I have always considered wild places to be a great church, where our soul and mind can find silence and peace.
