TITLE: "CONFLICTO INTERNO"
I shot this image using a film camera (with a roll of black and white film) on a beach in Chile. I wanted to shoot in a location where I could use natural occurrences around me to help represent someone experiencing self-conflict. I was able to photograph myself for this photograph using the self-timer setting on my camera. And I developed all images from this trip to Chile in a darkroom.
AUTHOR: Maurice Gordon (United States)
School: I am currently a Junior at Rutgers Mason Gross School of the Arts, for photography.
Info about submitted photographs: The images I submitted to this year's contest were taken using a film camera+35mm black and white film roll during my most recent trip to Chile this year.
Style: I frequently photograph myself—not in an effort to express who I actually am, but rather—to tell a fictional story of my own creation. These stories—or situations—are often inspired by horror and science fiction films I have enjoyed throughout my life. I try to instill these photographs (or series of photographs) with a cinematic quality.
