TITLE: Venice with a Twist
Venice, Italy is a very picturesque location, and almost everyone is familiar with the imagery. Venice has also been photographed ad infinitum, and it can be quite difficult to present a fresh perspective of an oft photographed locale. While I see an overall aesthetic uniformity of Venice, I also see so many little nuances that together form the big picture, and often they are not represented in the final image.
With this series, I am offering an alternative vision of Venice landmarks while still maintaining the familiar feel of Venice.
Several shots from various angles were re-arranged in a collage with varying degrees of opacity. The individual images were shot with a range of exposures and focal lengths. In the process of arranging, many of them have been distorted to adjust for of a better fit.
When viewed as the final collage, all individual images play a part in re-creating these multi-faceted memories of Venice landmarks, adding different perspectives and greater depth.
