TITLE: Perceived Realities: Guns for Peace?
Regardless of subject matter, there will always be multiple perspectives. Clearly everyone has the right to peacefully articulate their opinions and be treated with respect. This concept is central to democracy. Unfortunately, when an individual’s perceived reality is tainted by disinformation, it can be destructive. However, when citizens have the courage to step back, calm their emotions, clear their mind, and carefully scrutinize, without bias, their sources of information, it often becomes apparent that falsehoods are propagated by people who are motivated by greed, ego, power, and anger, as opposed to a true concern for the wellbeing of our collective society.
When viewing these photographs, I invite you to ask yourself, “When do individual rights cross the line and infringe on the collective rights of the community?” Why do we have stop lights? Why are there laws that prohibit smoking in restaurants?
