TITLE: “Passage of time – leaves textures” series
The Covid-19 pandemic continues into its third year and – at least in my opinion – even worse: Putin has started a senseless war killing thousands of innocent people and causing worldwide havoc. People, not the least connected to either party in the war, dying of hunger because they cannot afford the bread anymore and many more dire consequences of increasing prices and instability in general.
I find this very hard to emotionally deal with. My camera, at least momentarily, helps me to forget about all these worries. Also, as there are no more lockdowns and more and more countries are “open” for travel again, I could go out into nature and pursue my passion of nature photography.
My first travels – apart from visiting my family in Europe – were to Melbourne and surrounds, Australia, and the coast along the Great Ocean Road.
This resulted in a beach abstract series – beach textures.
The other series I am currently working on is the passage of time, shown in the process of leaves from light green in spring to the wilting process in autumn. The series presented here are the “summer leaves” showing their texture amplified through making the picture in black and white.
2022 MV_Leaves_1-8: Pictures 1-7 of this series are taken in Singapore (various dates), in various parks and picture 5 in my own garden. Picture 8 is taken near Emerald, Victoria (Australia) along Wattle Creek.
