TITLE: Heralds of the World
A series of images taken on a trip to Greenland in 2019. It is a fragile landscape and as we all know, one that is under threat from climate change. I travelled in the summer when the sun didn't set. I also didn't pack enough t-shirts! For Greenland a day-time temperature of around 16 centigrade was unprecedented and when we travelled into Disko Bay, where the icebergs float free from the nearby glacier, it was astonishing to see them melting so profusely in the noonday and midnight sun.
Each iceberg has its own character: the wedge, the cathedral, the tiara and so on. They are incredible and dynamic structures, the size of football stadiums; many with their own clouds just above them, rather like a halo. Heralds of our changing world, if you will. We must protect them.
AUTHOR: Robert Bolton (United Kingdom)
My name is Robert Bolton and I strive to be a fine art Photographer in my spare time, at least that is my mission! I am based in the UK but prior to the pandemic I travelled a lot with my day job and this allowed me to indulge my photography. I love seascapes, minimalism and the 'otherworldly'. We create our reality and I like mine tranquil, reflective and as simple as possible.
