TITLE: Above the earth
The most impressive views from the airplane window open precisely on the rivers and their forms. At the height you begin to notice all the details. It is especially magical to watch how the very calm water creates a smooth surface and creates a contrast on the ground but smoothly merges with the Northern sea.
AUTHOR: Elli Asker (Sweden)
Based in Sweden. I have lived and worked in Spain, Russia and the USA and combine travel with a passion for photography. I studied with Dimitri Bogachuk at Kiev's School of Photography, in the Ukraine, and completed a BA in Political Science at Södertörn University, Sweden. I am an advocate for the positive influence which creative practice can have. My own story is one of immigration prompted by traumatic persecution in my home country and photography has been a way to cope with anxiety and the effects of PTSD.
My photographs are influenced by both classical cinema and painting, reflecting the color fields of Impressionist, Post-Impressionist and Expressionist artists along with the sophisticated aesthetics of directors such as Tarkovsky, Bergman, Fellini and Almodovar. In my work I seek to create photographs that can communicate the emotion associated with our shared experiences, building a connection with the viewer.
