TITLE: Frozen Moments
When you hear Copenhagen people often think of a far northern outpost deep in the snow. But, unlike Copenhagen's Nordic neighbors, Denmark is actually relatively stable year-round with winters that drift to around 0 C, but rarely much below that. Every few years though, the temperature drops for a week or two. The harbor freezes and magical ice patterns come to life. I captured this moment on one of those evenings, right as the snow started to fall. What resulted was a unique photo of a brief moment in time. Within hours the snow which just hours before had been clean glossy ice - was fully covered by a thin layer of fresh snow. This late-night point of transition captures all the beauty and polish of a fresh snow, but with the texture and depth of the early freeze.
