TITLE: Turpism
Turpism is an anti-aesthetic treatment that emphasizes what is ugly and imperfect. During the photoshoot, the model was illuminated in such a way as to emphasize her veins showing through her thin skin. Against the often idealized studio portraits, I decided to emphasize in this way what is most characteristic and "imperfect".
