TITLE: Helga
Her Granddaughter's hands are as warm as she remembered.
The image depicts Helga, a 99 year old Holocaust survivor in palliative care.
Separated indefinitely from her family once before, she hoped it would never happen again. After spending most of 2020 alone, in constant isolation or in transit between hospital and her aged care facility, she dreamt of the warm touch of her loved ones.
This is the moment she is finally reunited with her family.
AUTHOR: Andrew J Morley (Australia)
His passion for photography began at an early age running around the garden with his Uncle's old 35mm camera, taking as many pictures as the film would allow, and developing them with his older brothers in the improvised darkroom in the family laundry. Fast forward 15 years or so, technology has changed but his drive for the perfect image has only grown. He followed that passion on to RMIT studying Scientific Photography before moving on to Deakin University to finish a Bachelor of Contemporary Arts in Media, all the while assisting some of Australia's best photographers and working to better his own skills. After shooting throughout South East Asia, Europe and the UK he returned home to Melbourne. And in 2012, founded Andrew J Morley Photography and from there has worked on many advertising and lifestyle campaigns Australia wide, as well as been a regular around the fashion festivals. His strong vision and unique style has meant his work is sort after by many news and media outlets Australia wide.
