Maya, in the foreground, is the female bonobo chief of her clan at the « Lola Ya Bonobo » Sanctuary, in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Thinking, the other members of the group seem to be waiting for her decision. The attitudes and facial expressions of these great apes are extremely disturbing as to their resemblance to humans.
