TITLE: Fusion of Martial Art and Nature
The series focuses on fusion of taekwondo movements and forces of nature.
PUNCH
This image focuses on the shape of ‘punch’ which looks like the seed. The birth of seed signifies the white and yellow belt in taekwondo. White signifies the birth of seed. Yellow signifies the first beam of sunlight shining on the seed. The seed has a dark background, signifying a new learner.
SINGLE KNIFE HAND BLOCK
This image focuses on the shape of ‘single knife hand block’ which resembles the sprout, and green sprout signifies the green belt. As a yellow belt student advances, he gets the green belt. Green signifies the growth of the seed as it sprouts. The sprout has a brighter background, signifying a growing learner.
SPEAR HAND STRIKE
This image focuses on the shape of ‘spear hand strike’ which looks like the leaf, and the leaf signifies the blue belt. This is because blue signifies the blue sky towards which the plant continues to grow and starts to have leaves. A blue belt student moves up in rank, just like the plant which grows taller. The leaf has an even brighter background, signifying a more knowledgeable learner.
OUTER FOREARM INWARD BLOCK
The image focuses on the shape of ‘outer forearm inward block’ which resembles the branch, and the branch signifies the red belt. This is because red signifies the red-hot heat of the sun as the plant continues to grow and start to have thick branches. The branch has a bright background, signifying a mature learner.
TURNING KICK
The image focuses on the shape of ‘turning kick’ which resembles the budding flower, and flower signifies the black belt. Black signifies the darkness beyond the sun. The flower has a very bright background, signifying a fully grown learner who can now teach his disciples.
