TITLE: Ribbon of knowledge
Situated at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Geneva, this sculpture of 11 metres height and 37 metres length, pays homage to great discoveries in physics through the ages. Designed by Canadian artist Gayle Hermick is titled "Wandering the immeasurable". On its surface anyone can witness 396 breakthrough discoveries in the field of physics, astrophysics or mathematics. Each one written in its language of origin from 1500 BC up to present day. From Mesopotamians and Babylonians, Archimedes and Pythagoras to Einstein and Higgs.
