The New Generation
It was late afternoon, when I came across this two young boys, on their way back home. All of us were headed in the same direction - the Punakha suspension bridge - the second longest suspension bridge in Bhutan. The boys were chatty. Within a few minutes we discussed everything - from the favourite Bollywood actors to their school life in one of the most scenic places in the world. I asked them how is it like to cross the bridge everyday on their way to school. They replied in a very matter of fact manner - there are days when it's very windy and the bridge swings quite a bit, but it's very safe. They also added very proudly - 'it's the most beautiful bridge in Bhutan.' I agreed wholeheartedly with that point.
