HONORABLE MENTION

TITLE: Brown Skin, Black and White world
No matter where you go, those with darker complexions seem to be put on the outskirts of society. This is not random. Through centuries on oppression, colonialist practices, and wealth disparity these differences are sharp and in our face. All it takes is to lock past your eccentric tastes and cheap fabrics, or ones general indifference to "beggars", to see it. But it isn't for a lack of understanding. It seems as though most of us, if asked, are aware of these gaps. It's simply a matter of feeling as though somebody else will take care of it.
