TITLE: INCANTEVOLE
During COVID-19 pandemic, Italy has been one of the first European countries to face this challenge, and the one which suffered the most for sure.
We Italians went through almost 60 days of full lockdown, and yet we are far from getting back to what we used to call "normal".
Nevertheless May represents a big step forward to us, since the lockdown is going to be kind of "less strict" and some little walks are permitted (provided that you're wearing a mask).
Moved by this spirit of positiveness I woke up early in the morning, I grabbed my camera and just went out for a walk in my neighborhood. First time out in 50 days, everything looks different; everything looks new to me.
As I walk my way out of quarantine, even the buildings I used to see in my everyday routine start to look interesting to my eyes.
Around the corner, I see this man jogging in my direction. Birds are flying in complete silence.
Huge silvery clouds behind the man's back, like he just escaped from a storm.
We're not there yet, but we're slowly going in the right direction.
It's a new day.
About the title: "Incantevole" (= "Charming") is the name of a song by Subsonica, an italian band.
This song walked me through the entire quarantine and its title has been part of a bigger photographic project which I carried out while staying home.
AUTHOR: Davide Scognamiglio (Italy)
I'm Davide, i'm 24 and I am a photographer
and videomaker based in Naples, Italy
One thing I've always loved about photography is catching time.
Whatever you're living right now is temporary.
A special event, a beautiful trip, a walk with your friends:
these things will all be gone in the blink of an eye.
My mission is to make your memories live forever through photography,
so you can focus on the moments you're living.
Not thinking about before, nor later.
Let's get together into the while.
