TITLE: Portrait of a Brazilian Shaman
Shamanism is becoming more widespread in western countries. The interest in their wisdom and ancestral healing arts is growing, which is why shamans from all over the world travel to Europe and spread their culture. A phenomenon that leaves many questions unanswered.
AUTHOR: Mirella Frangella (Germany)
I grew up in a family of photographers in Uruguay and Germany. Particularly I'm fascinated by people who are not looking for happiness in wealth and consumption, but who live simply and down to earth.
I did the BA in the HAWK Hildesheim and studied one year in the Facultad de Bellas Artes Madrid. After that I worked a long time in the Dominican Republic in advertising photographer. Since the end of 2012 I live in Berlin and work photographically in the field of portrait and documentation.
