TITLE: B3 Lockup
While on a tour with a local politician of a Boston Police station cell all but one cell was empty. Inside was a unidentified young African American looking through the cell bars. I made one image from my hip level without the police escort knowing the photo had been made. And continued on with politician to make photos of him with the empty cells

Staff news photographer at the Boston Herald from 1986-2004 ,covering news , sports, Red Sox, Bruins ,Celtics ,Music Concerts . Bill’s career started as a corespondent at the Concord Monitor as a writer being paid 25 cents for a inch of words but five dollars for a photo. Quickly found the interaction between subjects and making photos was a calling. Moving to Dallas Texas in the 1980’s he worked for the Associated Press as a freelancer and was a photo printer. During that time he covered the Dallas Cowboys , Mavericks, Texas Rangers , 1984 RNC. In 1986 he was hired by the Boston Herald.
