TITLE: Emerge from the shadows, and then look at the horizon.
AUTHOR: Francesco Cremonese (Italy)
I'm Francesco, a 24 years old amateur photographer from Treviso (Italy), and the genres I'm mostly interested to are street, documentary, architecture and landscape photography. Despite having Venice as my preferred subject I usually shot mostly when I travel, and I also travel only when life permits me to do so, using the photography as a medium and an expressing language to convey my thoughts and feelings. It is curious thought that, since my other great passion is cinema (art-house and experimental), I've been aiming a lot on this medium. I think cinema really inspired me from the deep, I can see it in some pictures that recalls Tarkovsky movies, like the rain seen (and consequently captured) from an abandoned building, or the incredible camera angles of Gaspar Noè's movies, or also the low-key portraits from Tsai Ming-liang and Pedro Costa films. It's needless to say, since it's obvious, but these two mediums or ways of expressions are so tied together that makes me hesitant to just writing about them here as separated arts, and probably applies also to who's reading this. Still, tied or not I'm now focused on photography and I'm trying to get the best from it. In these past years, since when I'm committed to this medium, I've grown more and more interested in its world, and now I'm searching for opportunities to widen my artistic horizons and also to improve myself through it, or to say it briefly, to determine my future.
