TITLE: Cousins
Because of the economic crisis, a lot of people from Venezuela have been forced to leave their country searching for a better future in different parts of Latin America. Due to the high amount of people emigrating, many governments decided to close their borders leaving Venezuelans with no options. Colombia, their neighbor country, was one of the few countries that decided to keep their borders open, allowing many of them to seek refuge there.
I went out to talk and photograph many of them as I wanted to get to know and share their stories. This is the photograph of two cousins. The first of them arrived a few years before the crisis started. Because of that, he was able to help his cousin by giving him a job working as a motorcycle repairman. This picture was taken just a few weeks after they reunited.
