TITLE: On the Hunt
This 3 year old female polar bear was isolated on a small strip of land, likely waiting for the pack ice to return. Still new to being on her own as she would have just recently left mom, she seemed to be playing it safe by staying on the island instead of swimming in search of food. Luckily, there were bird cliffs she could fall back on in the meantime. I photographed her from the zodiac, against this stunning gloomy sky.
