TITLE: Just Beneath the Surface
This friendly whale shark on the Ningaloo reef, Western Australia, was a beauty to swim next to, moving up and down in the water column and circling around me and our vessel. It is always a treat to meet a whale shark like this, as they spend most of their time at a great depth and can move pretty fast and be easily spooked by people.
AUTHOR: Amy Beck (Australia)
Amy Beck is a nature photographer who lives and works in remote Western Australia. Amy grew up in the UK, with a creative background, studying art and photography formally. However the UK could not satisfy her photography subject desires and she has always been a travel addict. Her main travel motivation being wildlife and nature based experiences, arriving on the Ningaloo Reef, she found a new place to call home. A pristine environment with ever-changing underwater worlds and hundreds of different animals to meet. This is what inspired her to move into underwater photography and hone her skills and style in that sphere.
