Liang Jie, born in Leshan, Sichuan in 1963
After graduating from high school in 1978, he recruited workers to work as a shelf worker at the Tongjiezi Hydropower Station of the Seventh Bureau of Hydropower. Since then, a "Seagull 205" camera began his photography life. For the quality of photography, I tried almost all the cameras and lenses that I can get. In 2005, I started to design and make my own cameras. I have made 4X5 inch and 8X10 inch wooden and metal film cameras in different versions. These machines have become the present. The main tool in photography practice.
Photography—especially film photography—has a lot of pressure. It was the family ’s long-term support without complaints that came along the way, so these works are also the consensus of our family.
