TITLE: Skyspace
Close by the Australian National Gallery in Canberra, James Turell's Skyspace creates a surreal environment sheltered from the outside world.
AUTHOR: Robyn MacRae (Australia)
I live in a small rural town in NSW Australia where my photographic work is divided between commissions, personal projects and being an educator. I am currently undertaking several bodies of work relating to a sense of place, connections with land, as well as the notion of self image and modern representations of beauty.
I am also a Churchill Fellow, I continue to investigate the impact that photography can have on the educational outcomes and community involvement of youth at risk in both urban and regional areas.
I have been drawn to black and white photography from the first moment I have held a camera. The imagery is stripped back to reveal the layers of emotion and reveals so much more in an intimate way.
