TITLE: Walking between Stillness and Motion
Walk of people has many subtle expressions and meanings. It is an action between pause and continuity, between stillness and motion. A succession of steps can be break up into countless paused moments, which is analogous to the essence of photography. As an art form that exists between stillness and motion on the ontology level, the moment that camera captures is a still and silent moment, yet can be extended to fluid infinity in time sequence. In this sense, photography enables people to observe things such as the walk of people on the streets, which written language find it feeble to depict and express.
AUTHOR: Mengyin Li (China)
I am a writer, photographer and art researcher. Photography allows me to feel in tune with the collective unconsciousness in our contemporary living environment. I view words and images as powerful weapons to evoke people's emotion and awareness, thus take action for a better world.
