TITLE: POSITIONS
It is said that you should photograph what you love ................ one of my loves is ballet & dance, so I this is a shoot with a lovely dancer. I already had in mind that I didn't want to necessarily do the standard dance poses & to do a portrait session with a touch of quirkiness instead. I also wanted it to feel a bit more fashiony, rather than with a tutu or standard ballet gear, but that would also not look out of place with the ballet theme. So I styled the dancer in a big voluminous skirt & a complimentary net frilled top. In reality, the outfit is actually bright pink, but it translates well into black & white. The image results are half & half of the dancer being given free reign to create some shapes & moves and of me giving some directional ideas. I really love this set of portrait photos. I like the mix of standing, en pointe & on the floor positions. They are all different, but flow nicely together.

I am currently an Amateur level photographer, looking to elevate my status to Professional, with a focus in Fashion, Beauty & general Portrait work, but also with an interest in outdoor photography & other subject matter. I am a member of the photographer's global interactive community website WWW.VIEWBUG.COM, and in the last few years I've been a WINNER x 5, RUNNER UP x 1 & FINALIST x 6 in their ongoing PHOTO CONTESTS & CHALLENGES. In 2019, my VIEWBUG members's gallery was in their TOP 10% most popular, the website membership is worldwide with thousands of members so that is some achievement. I've also been a FINALIST x 2 of THE MAKE UP SHOW PHOTO COMPETITIONS ( Orlando & Dallas, USA ). In 2019, I was invited by the owner of a small hotel in Turkey to take flower photos to compliment the colour themes in each of the hotel bedrooms, the photos were printed on canvass in various sizes, the largest being 1.4 sqm, and are now hanging proudly in 9 hotel rooms. Inherently artistic, I attended art college for 5 years following school education. Things went in a different direction after that & but now it is my time to revisit & follow my creative passions. In 2012 I trained as a Make Up artist & qualified with Distinction. Where Styling & Make Up Artist skills are called for in a project, I can incorporate these along with my Photography.
