TITLE: Frida Kahlo
The Metamorphosis Dance Group from Terceira Island, Azores, presented a contemporary dance performance entitled “Kahlo, Contemporary Dance”. As a way to celebrate the “International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women” (November 25), the group took to the stage the story and life of “Frida Kahlo” which was considered by many to be a reference for its originality and ability. of overcoming. With a multifaceted personality, he was not afraid to face life, despite all the hardships imposed on him. Endowed with a strength, a passion, an unusual versatility, it was the story of this woman that these three dancers embodied her life in a show full of emotion.
On stage, each dancer approached a phase lived by the artist, such as the accident that caused the greatest suffering of her life and triggered her intense and irreverent art; the pain of not being able to carry a pregnancy through to the end; the anguish of a great love underscored by betrayals; and an unstable state of health.
