TITLE: The Chinese labor- rural migrant workers
I’ve paid close attention to the subject of migrant workers for nearly a decade, and recorded all aspects of their life and work in the urban areas.
Every year after the Spring Festival, rural migrant workers across China travel to cities by bus and train. Some are husbands and wives, some are the old and the young, and some are the whole family together. The youngest is only 18 years old and the eldest is nearly 70. They are engaged in different types of work, including plumbers, carpenters, bricklayers, scaffolding workers, as well as concrete reinforcement, electrogas welding, external wall insulation, signal workers and so on. Technicians earn 260 yuan per day, whereas, manual workers can only get 120 yuan. They eat and live on construction sites, pinch and scrape, just to save a little more money for building a new house at their hometown, for covering children’s college expenses, and for seeing a doctor and collecting pension, etc. Everyone has his own dream, that is, earning more money and a brilliant future by their hard work. This is China's diligent and rustic laborers-migrant workers.
