TITLE: The saved child of Sir Nicolas Winton
Ruth Hálová was born Adlerová in 1926 in Český Krumlov. After Hitler took office, they had to leave Sudeten Krumlov. They moved to Prague. And there, my mother learned that an Englishman allowed Czech Jewish children to travel to England. Thus, Ruth became part of Nicholas Winton's bold plan to save 669 Jewish children from Czechoslovakia from the Terezín ghetto and concentration camps.
As she herself, she has been fascinated by the gift of life since she was a child - her was saved by Nicholas Winton, who allowed her and her sister to go into English exile before the war.
