TITLE: Kumbh Mela
The monsoon punishes pilgrims. Millions of people gather in the cities of Nasik (2015) and Allahabad (2019) to celebrate the Lumbh mela festival. Hindus from all corners of India parade to the holy places, where demons (asuras) shed the drops of immortality in their flight from the gods (devas). men and women bathe in rivers. The complete immersion in the waters is the summit of the party. Hindus believe that this act cleanses their sins.
